Personal artist mokublad

Soetkin Everaert lives and works in Belgium and is the founder of Mokuhanga Magic.

Soetkin studied sculpture at the LUCA in Brussels. After her studies she specialised in other disciplines such as ceramics and textile art.

She currently is an art teacher for the visually impaired.

In 2018, she started the free graphic art course at the Ghent Academy of Fine Arts to study Japanese woodblock printmaking with Vladimir Ivaneanu. After a while she felt the urge to learn more about this beautiful technique. An intensive collaboration with Vladimir and the creation of the Mokuhanga Magic project were the result. She went to Japan and took classes there to specialise even more.

In her artistic work, Soetkin tries to capture the transient and temporary nature of ‘being’ and transform it into silence. She works with mokuhanga, but also with ceramics, textiles, drawing and sculpture.
